What is the difference between suggested types of connection?
ValeVPN offers something different and new, we offer three types of connections on the application: DEDICATED, SHARED and FILE. So, what is the difference between these and which one should you choose?
Let’s start with the fact that all three are secure and you should not worry about someone getting your data. So, what’s the difference?
A DEDICATED connection provides the user with their own private, fully dedicated server that doesn’t share speed or resources with other users. We launch a fully dedicated, specially configured Virtual Server on the largest cloud providers with a single press of a button!
A DEDICATED server is best for shorter periods like watching a stream, or connecting at a coffee shop. But it takes up to 3 minutes to create a new server. So you will need to be patient as we launch the server. It is the most secure option, and the fastest.
BENEFITS TO DEDICATED SERVERS:
WHEN TO USE DEDICATED SERVERS:
A SHARED connection is exactly that: Shared with other users. The biggest benefit to a SHARED connection is that you don’t have to wait, the connection is immediate. When you hit connect, you will be connected to a server with up to 100 other users immediately. Yes, the speed is a little bit slower compared to the dedicated connection, but if you use the server for simple tasks you won’t see the difference. A “Shared” server is best for longer connections such as downloading files (torrents, etc), where you’ll walk away from the system or long-standing connections.
BENEFITS TO SHARED SERVERS:
WHEN TO USE SHARED SERVERS:
A FILE connection type. Use connection type FILE if you have your own VPS setup in your own cloud or home and want to connect to it. You can simply open the OVPN file and use your own private connection KEY. This feature is for power users that manage their own technology.
