Secure Your iPhone with the Simple Safety Check Feature

Apple’s Safety Check feature, which is exclusive to iOS 16 and iPhone users, is a powerful tool that helps users take control of their information. With Safety Check, users can review and manage what data they are sharing with other people and applications.

Before using Safety Check, you must be signed in to your Apple ID on your iPhone.

To access the feature, follow these steps:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap Privacy & Security
  • Tap Safety Check

Safety Check can be used to cease information sharing with others in the following apps: Health, Home, Calendar, Find My, Notes, and Photos. It also removes all data gathered by Bluetooth, Camera, Contacts, Files & Folders, Local Network, Location Services, Apple Music, Motion and Fitness, Reminders, Research, and Speech Recognition.

In case you need to stop sharing all information immediately, Safety Check has an Emergency Reset option.

To use it, follow these steps:

  • Open Settings Tap Privacy & Security
  • Tap Safety Check
  • Tap Emergency Reset
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to perform an Emergency Reset.

It is important to note that when ceasing to share information with others, they may notice when you no longer share data with them. Therefore, always proceed with caution when using Safety Check.
